Re: I have read the The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald. Some would say that it is in top 3 novels ever written! I think younger people might find it a bit tedious. But experienced readers will love every page of the book with its wonderful writing, symbolism, and poetry. |

Re: I remember that in school (a long time ago...), we had to read The Great Gatsby in English class. At that time, I found the book kind of boring and monotonous. |

Re: The Adventures of Huckleberry is a good read. If you like reading adventure type novels, then I am sure you will enjoy the book. Again, most of the above top 10 books are generally difficult to read at times. But, you have to stick with it and move the past the bits that you perhaps don't quite understand. |

Re: top 10 novels by Times.com I have read Lolita, adventures of huckleberry Finn, and Middlemarch ..
Adventures of Huckleberry is the lightest read of all these three and can be read by children as an adventure story and by adults as ana dventire story that also chronicles a time or period ..speaking both historically and about childhood if you want to take a more general approach. It describes both our childhoods and its real and imagined adventures as well as the period of history beautifully and with humour.
Lolita is of course a very disturbing book and very brutally honest, but I would neer want to re-read it, again, I must confess one cannot forget it either.
Middlemarch and it's author again I found both equally enigmatic and mysterious. |

Re: I agree with you mitaru, about the book Lolita. I have also read it long time ago and it is something that is very stark and bold. I think that is the great thing about these books is that the authors really don't leave anything behind and are quite daring. |
